I can confirm that you will get around £360 if you fill one of these bottles up with everything bar £1 % £2 coins...took about 2 1/2 years to fill up and about 2 hours to sort and count.

Pays for half the ST though.

Which is nice.

You cunts.

Natwest at Westfield lets you sling your coins in the machine, seen all sorts pouring dosh in from tesco bags.

I meant to say they have those machines like sainsburies etc but it doesn't take any commission.

I've got one that I just bung all my change in when I get home from work/pub/football. It's nearly a quarter full and I think there's around £400 in there.

I think you can take them to the Metro bank, you don't need to have an account with them either. They pay you the money and ask if you want to start an account with them and you just say no thanks. I'll check it out when mines nearly full.

It's worth paying the 8% for the satisfaction of slinging it all in hearing it all clanging away everyone in sains looking at you in awe

Errr, Looking at the poor person cashing in so he/she can buy some shop brand beans!

I have 2 tins from the £1 shop that you need a heavy duty can opener to get in to them, I save £1 & £2 coins in them, both are quite heavy now but only half full.... This will be cashed in when full and I expect to see a few hundred in both by then.

Buster, very few HSBC have coin machines, I'm with them, the nearest one to me is in the city

HSBC have those machines and every penny goes straight into your account.

Probably better off filling 2 bottles with 1-10p coins then.

Re: 4.5L Whiskey Bottles - coinage collection
I've filled one with 1p, 2p, 5p & 10p coins only and it was £120 odd.
I was quite disappointed with that to be honest, but started again and it's a 3rd filled, but it seems to take ages.

How many notes have you broken into because you haven't got change, though?

You would then have even more change to put into the bottle...

It's a vicious circle

Re: 4.5L Whiskey Bottles - coinage collection
Banks don't want it unless it's bagged up in their bags and the correct amounts in each bag, copper, 20p 50p pound coins etc

Why would you want to lose 8%, when you can bag it yourself and take it to a bank, who don't charge a thing?

£1,300 is nice to know for £1 coins, but it would take fucking ages to do that.

Since I've been married, I've been bought three money pots. The ones you have to break to get the money out.

Last week i filled one and had £997 in it.

Wife put it towards removal costs ☹☹☹ as we are moving house.

Take it to Sainsburys coin machine and they will rip you off for 8% commission ;-)

Re: 4.5L Whiskey Bottles - coinage collection
A mate of mine had one of those (not sure about the size) and purely put £1 coins into it for whoever long it took to fill.

When he counted it all for his trip to Oz, there was £1300 in it.

I would have spent it on booze long before it got to the top, sop fair play to you!
